An Affordable Way to Decorate Your Home for Fall
Fall is officially here! I spent some time last week changing out my seasonal decor. Believe it or not, most of my fall home accessories come from the grocery store and costs me under $20. My favorite fall decor items from the grocery store are:
- bean soup mix (2-4 bags depending on how many containers you need to fill)
- an assortment of mini pumpkins and gourds (I purchased 2 bags of assorted mini pumpkins and gourds, plus a few individual pumpkins with especially cool stems)
- candy corn (2 bags)
I have invested in classic hurricanes and candle holders that I have scattered throughout our home. Each season I change out the filler items and candles. I store the beans in a plastic bin so that I don’t need to replace them year after year. I purchase fresh candy corn and mini-pumpkins every fall.
Entryway
These hurricanes greet you immediately when you walk in the front door. I like the fact that they have a separate area underneath the candle to hold seasonal decor. I filled these hurricanes with a mixture of bean soup and mini-pumpkins. I am always on the lookout for pumpkins with interesting stems when I am purchasing fall decor. Checkout my Instagram Stories on Wednesday, September 26th to find out how I keep my pumpkins fresh and free of mold until Thanksgiving.

Living Room
The white mini-pumpkins compliment the ivory flameless candle and highlights the white beans in the soup mixture. The creamy, white color looks elegant and sophisticated in a living room setting.

Family Room
The mini-pumpkins in the family room offer a pop of color. I alternated orange pumpkins with speckled and mottled pumpkins to add texture and interest to the glass huricanes. The candy corn is a tempting vase filler for guests and family members with a sweet tooth and offers a touch of whimsy to the family room decor.

I can’t bear to burn these candles because they are simply too cute just the way they are. An antique brass candle snuffer from my grandparent’s home adds sentimental value to this fun Halloween vignette.

I hope I have inspired you to keep an eye out for home decor items and not just groceries on you next trip to to market. The floral department at Safeway also has a great assortment of glass hurricanes and candles for your decorating needs. I even found my favorite door wreath there! Do you have a favorite grocery store item that you use to decorate your home?
Happy fall y’all 🍁🎃🍂
