Holiday Pajamas

Happy Election Day! I’m headed to the polls this morning to drop off my absentee ballot. I started voting absentee when I was teaching because I liked to take my students with me to the polling place so that they could see democracy in action. The school that I taught at wasn’t my assigned location, but I learned that you are able to drop off an absentee ballot at the polling place of your choice. I am a big believer that children are impacted more by our actions than by our words. I have continued the  tradition of taking my own kids whenever possible to drop off my ballot and collect a sticker. The volunteers are always more than willing to give children a sticker (and who doesn’t love a free sticker 😉).

I can’t believe that the holidays are right around the corner. I’m not a fan of Holiday music or decorations before Thanksgiving, but I do like to get a jump start on my holiday shopping list so that I have more time to actually enjoy the season once it is officially here. One of my favorite holiday traditions is wearing matching family pajamas to bed on Christmas Eve. Often times our Elf On the Shelf will leave a parting gift of holiday pj’s for us while we are attending Christmas Eve Mass. We put them on as soon as we get home, make hot cocoa, grab a few candy canes and head out to see our favorite lights and decorations around town.

I am featuring a few of my favorite picks from the companies that we have purchased our holiday pajamas from in the past. Don’t delay if you would like to purchase holiday pajamas for your family this year. Popular sizes and styles tend to sell out quickly. Click on the photos or captions below to be taken directly to each website.

Children’s Place

Did you know that The Children’s Place carries pajamas for the entire family during the holiday season? These holiday pj’s will keep you warm and toasty all winter long. The fabric feels like your favorite fleece blanket. The price of The Children’s Place pajamas can not be beat. Right now pajamas are currently 50% and range in price from $8 to $18.

The Company Store

The Company Store offers my favorite patterns and styles of the three brands I am sharing with you today. The price point of these pj’s is definitely more of a splurge. If you have your heart set on one of these pairs, I would recommend taking advantage of the  25% OFF + FREE SHIPPING promotion they have right now. Enter the code  PL25FS18 when you check out. Pajamas range in price from $49-$59 before promotion is applied. These are made from 100% cotton flannel and tend to shrink in length after a few washes.

Target offers the biggest variety of holiday pajamas at a really great price. Prices range for $11.99 to $27.99 and they often are included in various promotions. I would recommend ordering these online because sizes and styles are often limited in the store. The Target pajamas tend to be lighter weight than the pajamas from the other companies. If you live in a warmer climate or run hot at night, these might be a better option for you.

I came across this photograph of our family wearing our holiday pajamas. It’s hard to believe we have had this tradition for over a decade now! Do you have a favorite tradition that you started when your kiddos were young?

My girls have always received a pair of PJ’s on Christmas Eve. I think I have to go to Target to get the Pup a pair as well 🙂

You have to post a picture and let me know what your dog thinks about getting in on the tradition!
