Make Your Own Trick or Treat Bag
One of my favorite Halloween activities when my kids were preschool and elementary school age was to make Halloween Treat Bags for Trick-or-Treating. I never purchased one of the orange plastic pumpkins for them to collect their candy in because selfishly I didn’t want to find a place to keep it all year. Instead, each year I would pick up a couple kraft paper bags with handles at our local party supply store or Target. Some years the kids would pick a colored bag that would compliment their costume other years they would stick with a Halloween theme. We would then raid the craft cabinet for stickers, glitter, glue, markers, etc… to decorate the bags with. The year my daughter dressed up as Tinker Bell she chose a green bag and covered it in fairy stickers. My son chose a red bag the year he was a firefighter and decorated his bag with fire trucks. Most of all, they just looked forward to creating their very own special bag for collecting candy.
