My Current Fall Favorites That I Can Wear Now and Later

Yesterday’s morning showers gave me all the fall feels! I was practically giddy trying to decide which sweater I should wear. As luck would have it the sun was back out by lunch time and I was forced to lose a layer. I have a feeling it will be little while before it’s sweater weather again, but I’m determined to infuse a little fall into my wardrobe from here on out.

The start of school and arrival of the pumpkin everything flips a switch in my brain that makes me want nothing to do with my summer brights, whites and tropical prints. Unfortunately, the temps aren’t conducive for chunky sweaters and flannels quite yet. I recently picked up a few new pieces that evoke the spirit of fall and will layer easily as we start to experience cool mornings and warm afternoons! I typically refuse to pay full price and although it’s the beginning of a new season, I was able to purchase almost everything you see here at a discount by taking advantage of various promotions. In fact I was able to nab one of the shirts for a mere $7. All the pieces gave my closet a quick refresh and will keep me cool until the season truly changes.

Pointelle Sweater Tee, Wide-Leg Jeans, and Mules

This pearl ivory pointelle sweater tee is on sale for $39.99. It is also available in a mustard yellow called Tungsten Glow. You can find the mustard yellow at an even deeper discount here. The creamy white color layers easily with everything. I love that this pretty and lightweight sweater gives my outfit a more feminine touch.

After seeing how much wear I got out of these light denim slim wide-leg jeans this summer I knew this pair of slim wide leg jeans in lunar wash would be a great addition to my fall wardrobe. The lunar wash run small. I sized up one and am wearing a petite. The cropped length and wide leg style are cooler than a pair of skinny jeans and look great with sandals and mules now or worn with flats and booties later.

Speaking of shoes, these woven mules are amazing! Cropped pants don’t tend to have a lengthening effect on legs. The pointed toe and light caramel shade of these particular mules are able to counteract that and give legs a leaner appearance.

I invested in an olive utility jacket years ago and it is still one of my favorite layering pieces. If you have yet own a utility jacket, I would recommend checking this one or this one out.

Leopard Print Camisole and Wide-Leg Black Jeans

I purchased this leopard cami during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I am kicking myself that I didn’t buy it in at least one other color. It runs true to size and doesn’t gap, gape or bunch anywhere. It was great on a recent night out when the temps were near 90, but I was in the mood for fall fashion. Animal prints are everywhere right now. This cami is on trend and can be worn year round.

The slim wide leg jeans proved they would work well for both day and night with the addition of a stacked heel and clutch. The lunar wash denim feels a bit dressier than your typical blue jean and the cropped length allow you to show off a cute pair of heels that would be hidden by a full length pant.

Cap-Sleeve Jumpsuit

This cap-sleeve jumpsuit immediately caught my attention on instagram recently. One of my favorite bloggers was wearing it in black and white stripes and looked adorable. I love a good jumpsuit and thought the stretchy lightweight knit fabric would be incredibly comfortable, yet still look pulled together. A jumpsuit makes getting dressed a cinch and is is surprisingly versatile. I decided to purchase it in the rich cassia red. It reminds me of the pretty shade of red that the leaves turn during autumn and it looks great with a wide array of colors and pattens. I have worn this jumpsuit at least once a week since I brought it home. Each time I’ve created a brand new look by switching out my shoes, adding a different outer layer, and trying a variety of accessories. The tie waist and scoop neck are flattering on an hourglass shape. What surprised me most was that the regular length wasn’t too long for my 5’4 frame. It comes is 4 different striped or solid colors and is available in both a regular and a tall length. It was originally $44.99, but has been consistently part of various promotions whenever I have checked. I was able to buy it for less than $30.

Puff Sleeve Tee With Wide-Leg Blue Jeans

Puff-sleeves and golden hues are other big trends this fall. A stylish tee is an inexpensive and easy way to make a wardrobe more up to date. This particular tee is no longer available, but you can find similar puff-sleeve shirts here, here and here. This pocket tee is a similar shade as the one above and currently on sale.

These jeans were one of my summer staples (you can see them here). They transitioned seamlessly into a fall staple with the addition of earthtones and chunkier shoes.

The block heel sandals were another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find. I like that they are more substantial that my delicate summer sandals and better suited for my fall looks. The stacked heel and fact that they cut across my instep instead of closer to the ankle is leg lengthening as well. For a similar look, this mule, this and this sandal are currently on sale.

Floral Bandana

My love affair with bandanas has continued into the fall with the purchase of this shadow petal fringe bandana in cool fog. This was the only item I bought at full price. I would still consider $12.50 a steal for the amount of times I have worn this bandana. I LOVE the fact that it includes so many fall colors in the pattern. It compliments all my fall favorites. Depending on my mood, I will tie it in my hair, around my neck or on my purse strap. It is. also available here.

Many of the items I included today are from Madewell. I am always impressed by both the fit and quality of the pieces I buy there. If you enjoy shopping at Madewell, I would recommend joining their Insider Club. It is a free rewards program that enables you to have access to special promotions and gifts. It has enabled me to buy some of the pieces at a discount that would typically sell out before they were moved to the sale rack. Madewell is currently offering 25% many of their popular fall items if you use the code PUMPKINSPICE. I’m so excited that Madewell opened a location in the nearby City Center. I might never need to step foot in the mall now that Madewell, Anthropologie, Sephora, and Athleta are so close ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m curious, what are you most excited to wear this fall? Have you bough.t anything recently or have you been keeping an eye out for something in particular? Share your thoughts with me in the comment section.
