October Odds & Ends
Hi! I’ve compiled a list of odds & ends that I couldn’t wait to share with you. This post is a mishmash of products, updates and tips that make my life a little easier. Grab a mug of something warm, curl up in your favorite spot and let’s get started…
Costco has three of my favorite items in stock right now and I have a feeling that they won’t be around for long.
I am a big fan of Hunter Rain Boots. I have owned a black pair for quite a few years. They are a classic rain boot that will never go out of style. Normally, these rain boots retail for over $150. They are available at Costco in olive green and grey which will compliment almost any color. Size up if you are in-between sizes. You can always add a thick boot liner for a snugger fit.
Fit Tip: This style has a 15″ calf circumference. If you have muscular calves, I would recommend the Hunter wide calf style or adjustable calf style instead. Unfortunately, those styles are not available at Costco.
Our entire family loves playing with Laser X. My son received a set as a gift a couple years ago and we had so much fun playing laser tag as a family that we purchased an additional set so that we could all play. We have also give quite a few sets as birthday and holiday gifts. One of my favorite things about Laser X is that there is not a limit to how many laser blasters can participate in a game. We have joined together with other families to play a giant game of laser tag at several family get-togethers. Laser X is a great way to burn off some energy inside on a rainy day.
I was so excited to find that the T3 Luxe 2I Hairdryer was back in stock at Costco! I purchased mine at Costco last year and have been keeping an eye out for them ever since to share with you. After my last hair dryer died I started researching replacement options. The T3 had numerous positive reviews, but I was hesitant to spend well over $100 on a hairdryer. When I spotted the T3 Luxe 2I for a more reasonable price at Costco I took it as a sign that I should give it a try and have not been disappointed yet. The T3 dries my thick head of hair completely in under 5 minutes (yes, I set a timer 😂) and leaves my hair looking smoother and healthier than my prior hairdryers. If you are in the market for a new hairdryer I would definitely recommend this one, and with Costco’s great return policy you always have the option of taking it back it it doesn’t meet your standards.
thredUP Clean Out Kits
I shared one of my favorite ways to clean out my closet and make money at the same time using thredUP awhile back in this post. Unfortunately, at the time thredUP was not accepting Clean Out Kits. I’m happy to report that Clean Out Kits are available again. Click here to order your Clean Out Kit. They are especially interested in receiving your denim jackets, pullovers, sweatshirts, casual dresses, shoes, jewelry, sunglasses and blouses.
An Easier Way to Floss With Braces
Our dentist just told us about an awesome new product that makes flossing with braces much easier. Both of my kids have braces right now and one of their least favorite things is trying to maneuver floss under the wire. The Platypus Orthodontic Flosser eliminates the needle and thread tool that we had been using and makes flossing with braces a much easier task.
A friend recently told me about Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara . The price and the reviews seemed too good to be true, so I decided I had to try it for myself. I was immediately impressed by the results. My eyelashes immediately appeared longer, the mascara wasn’t clumpy and it was a third of the price of the mascara I had been using.
My Favorite Holiday Organization App
Although I am not a proponent of stores decorating for the holidays early, I do like to start my holiday shopping well before December. In fact, I did quite a bit of my holiday shopping in July during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You can read read about some of my favorite gift ideas here. One of the problems I would face when holiday shopping early was that I would forget exactly what and for whom I had purchased by the time December rolled around. The Christmas Gift App allows me to stay on on budget, write down gift details, see my progress, generate shopping lists by store, and archive past year’s gifts. This last one is especially helpful so that I don’t repeat a past gift and I can see what I spent in prior years. I love that I always have my holiday gift list on hand so that if I am out and about I can quickly reference what I have already bought and what I still need.
